This vibrant geometric painting contains a circle superimposed on a rectangle in such a way that the circle is divided in half. By itself, this is a very minimalist construction. However, to make the piece more interesting, I added 13 horizontal stripes to half of the circle. The hues chosen are not typical rainbow colors. Instead, these are nuanced shades that contrast and interact interestingly with each other. The colors in the middle are the brightest, and towards the top and bottom are somewhat more subdued. This provides a subtle central focus and gives structure to the image.
